This is not a huge deal because there aren't any background tasks and I can always close the application, but running through Rosetta it uses much more memory than it needs and I would prefer to leave it open throughout the day. Currently from a memory usage standpoint I'm better off using the browser version.
Any plans to roll out a native M1 version?
Hey Paul, we've already had users ask for M1 support, and this is in our backlog. I'll add this post to the feedback we're gathering.
Hi Alex, can you give us any more info? Like if it's going into the next sprints or if there are many priority issues pushing this further.
If it's planned to be released during 2021 we can wait and keep using the web version, but an ETA would be very helpful. Our team will be receiving its MBP in the next weeks and we don't plan on installing Rosetta.
Thanks!!

@Alex _ Trello We are also very interested in AS support as more and more of our deployed laptops have M1 chips. Totally understand that it's tricky to balance various priorities, but Electron has had native AS support in its stable branch for 12 months now, so it should be fairly mature at this point. We'd love to help beta test, once it's available. Thanks!

Is there any update on expected M1 release? Most MacOS business applications now have native M1 releases (including Microsoft).

March 2022 - Any update on this? M1 has been out for 1.5 years now :)

April 2022 - Another month rolls by. 2 new Macs using the M1 chips have shipped (Studio). Only the Mac Pro remains as not using Apple Silicon now. Rumors of 2nd generation machines running M1 chips will ship within the next few months.
Maybe Trello/Attlassian thinks all its users only use the Mac Pro?
- No Testflight version to even test out and give feedback or bug reports on
- Only seems to be one Atlassian team member even active on watching this (Thank you Alex, we appreciate you).

Adding my voice to the pile. I've been a big fan of Trello forever, but our team agreed yesterday to move on if this isn't fixed soon. We much prefer the desktop experience to the browser and the performance is driving everyone nuts. Thanks!

We are mid May now, and still nothing from Atlassian. This is really embarrassing for any company that respects itself. "With love in New York City and all across the Planet Earth", really? :-)

Thank you for this Apple Silicon update.
In addition to this, can you please make your iOS/iPadOS apps available on Mac? This will allow for offline on desktop. Apple made it possible a couple of years ago for developers to offer their iOS/iPadOS apps via the Mac App Store. (You can do this in addition to your Mac "app"/web wrapper.)
Thank you for considering!

Trello is is unusably slow on our M1 Max Workstations. Every step (typing, adding a label ...) is associated with a large delay. We need a solution ASAP or we have to leave Trello for another solution.

Hi @Iwan Zeller - the only solution at this time is to use the web app, which Trello should run fine on! If you're having issues with the web app, let me know. Otherwise, I'll keep this thread in the loop with M1 optimisation - it's on the way!

Thanks for the answer. trello in the webbrowser is no solution. it is more of a cumbersome detour. can you be clearer what on the way means. release date?

Thanks for chiming in @Alex _ Trello - it would be nice to get some clear information from the Trello team on this - it's coming up on 2 years since the first Developer Transition kits were made available. That's a long time with little to show for it.

Any chance there is an update on this? The existing app under Rosetta is nearly unusable. An M1 optimized build for our teams can't come soon enough as we've moved everyone onto new M1s.

Adding another voice to the call for an M1 version of the app. It seems like it's now slowed down on all my macs (1 is an M1, work is Intel). So laggy it's really impossible to use. Any updates? Especially one with a specific timeline? Or should I start looking for another option?

Trello is unusable with M1. We pay 10 licenses and would like this necessary integration ... now!

Are you still experiencing the issue? Does the issue persist on a different network?
In order to make sure we’re starting with a clean slate, we need to do a check-up on your browser first. I'm sorry if some of these steps are redundant, but having all the info in one place helps us troubleshoot more quickly.
Please see this article for detailed instructions on troubleshooting any problems with Trello in the browser: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/troubleshooting-browser-issues-with-trello/
Let us know how it goes, and if this helps to resolve the problem!
Also, just a heads up, I've removed your email address from your message for privacy reasons. We can create a ticket on your behalf if the troubleshooting steps above don't work.
I'll keep an eye out for your reply,
Lara

It's an absolute joke that this hasn't been done by now. Trello on M1 is a horrific experience. We all understood that there was a transition period, but it's been forever since M1 was released. I can't even think of any other significant app that hasn't been updated. And they haven't just been updated; they've been ready for quite a while by now. Atlassian are the only ones who haven't figured this out. You can't possibly expect people to pay for this kind of experience.
