Why there is still no auto-save function in Trello

It has been very frustrating to repeatedly lose important notes/information in the description of the cards. I find it so surprising that this issue has not been addressed at all and is somehow considered not of a higher priority when this has been brought up multiple times since 2018! as per this thread: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Trello-questions/Auto-Save-Function-in-Trello/qaq-p/773986

I find it so shocking that such a simple yet important feature which is pretty much there in almost every other similar tools is somehow not addressed and to my shocking is not considered a higher priority when most of the users use description under card for so many important information regarding a task, from documentation to important meeting/review notes which is so crucial for any task. 

I really hope they address this ASAP as far I know this shouldn't be much big of a feature to implement considering how important this is and how frustrating the majority of users have been regarding this issue.

I just went through that thread and could not believe all the post and no comment from a Trello rep. I then searched "autosave feature in Trello 2024" and found this post. I've lost multiple things in the past month. The most recent was I had an entire long form content video script written and my computer died. Not really user error as it normally alerts me of low battery and this time it did not and I was in a zone. I use Trello to map out my content for the week. This was the straw. This is a simple feature that can and should be added ASAP. Most other platforms I looked into, right before making this post, all have autosave features. I will be rewriting my video script in a new platform off of what I can remember and then I will be moving ALL of my content over to the new platform as this is not acceptable. I will also be recommending all of my viewers do the same so this does not happen to them. 

What a shame, that the developers wouldn't listen to a simple request, that seems from the previous thread is important to many people. And let's be real... many people do not take the additional step to post about it to the company. Disappointed. Shame of you Trello.

This is a critical feature.  At the very least it should be an option to enable this — or even just a warning dialog when closing the card editing modal.

I am new to this forum, so I don't know if anyone from the Atlassian/Trello team routinely monitors posts here, or whether there is another way to formally raise a feature request.  But this really is a critical feature, and it's evidently been an issue for a very long time (there are several comment threads going back years; most have been abandoned).

Hopefully someone from Atlassian can comment and provide a way forward for this.
