@Jenny Nachaevsky nope, checklist text can't have newlines. However if you want to stick a bunch of text inside a checklist item it might be useful to either link the checklist item to another card or link the checklist item to some other storage of the information like a Google Doc. When you add links to checklist items you can use markup so that the link text shows up:
