Riddling Trello's Magic – Quick Bite

Trello_2.jpg

Riddling Trello's Magic – Quick Bite:

  • I exist within a board, but have no nails or wood,
  • I watch for actions, understood.
  • With a whisper or a click, my tasks unfold,
  • Moving pieces, a story untold.

What am I?

  • Butler (Trello's automation tool)

Real-World Example:

You manage a social media content calendar Trello board. You have a list named "Content Ideas" where team members submit post ideas. Every time an idea is added to this list, you want Butler to automatically move the card to the "Drafting" list and assign it to the writer responsible for that content area.

Solution with Butler:

  1. Automation Type: This scenario requires a Rule automation.
  2. Rule Setup:
    • When: Card is added to list - "Content Ideas"
    • Then:
      • Action 1: Move card to list - "Drafting"
      • Action 2: Assign member to card - (Choose the writer responsible for this content area)

Efficiency Essentials

Take advantage of Butler's natural language capabilities to effortlessly assign members to tasks.

For instance, if your writer's name on Trello is "Sarah", simply type "Assign to Sarah" in the second action to assign the task to her.

Note that Trello allows multiple member assignments to a card, which can be configured in the "Assign member to card" action as needed.

By setting up this automation, you'll streamline your workflow, ensuring that new content ideas added to the "Content Ideas" list are automatically moved to "Drafting" and assigned to the designated writer, all thanks to Butler's efficient automation.
