Believe it or not, the Atlassian Communiteam was at one time signed up to go hot air ballooning as a team! Our leader had planned this as a fun surprise for us at an offsite. When we learned about this activity, some of us were excited, some of us were terrified, and some of us really didn't want to wake up at 5AM to do it.

We didn't actually end up going hot air ballooning because of the weather forecast 🥵, but we had a lot of fun worrying about this adventure as a team. 🎈

@Bridget That could have been great training for a global Community hot air balloon race! 🤔

(Also: how is there no hot air balloon emoji yet?!)

I'm going to go with "most memorable" - on the way to a Summit, Simon and Dan took the summit team to a gun club in LA.

Doesn't sound like much at first, but bear in mind that most of the team were British, and we can go years without ever seeing a gun, let alone picking one up (it's usually the ones routinely carried by uniformed officers at airports and railway stations, and the odd shotgun in the hands of a farmer, gamekeeper or clay-pigeon shooter).  We had one person who was ex-German army, and I was in the shooting team at university, but we were both very rusty.  We leaned into it though...

The instructors were great, making us to feel quite safe, which encouraged us to spend ages there shooting.  It delivered a lot of in-jokes, not just on the day, as most of us also got to see Simon telling the finance person they'd need to somehow convert an expense claim that said "metric s..t-ton of ammunition" into something we could legitimately claim as a team-building expense.

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- Inside jokes (and understanding) are certainly one of the best outcomes of team training!
