Ive been in Healthcare IT for over 15 years, transitioning from healthcare. Now working towards consulting, application development, and project management.  What would you suggest as a good course of action?  Career titles are all over the place.

Hello,

I have been in IT over 30 yrs and would say best to get into Security or Networking. 

The Tech will change but folks will always need things secured (at rest and in transit) and need to get data to/from somewhere via networks.

Look at a day of the life of a software engineer and project manager on YouTube. (Also check product owner and product manager for more ideas on roles). See what their typical days look like and decide which one you prefer. Software engineers tend to spend most of their time writing code, which could be exciting for some but boring for others. On the other hand, project managers spend most of their days working with others to track deliverables or unlock roadblocks to the team. Best of luck!
