Notification Defaults

Hi there

Can someone please tell me how Trello works by default.

eg

1. I create a Board, am I automatically notified of any changes to the cards, board etc ?

2. Do I have to add someone to each card or if I add them to a Board, are they automatically added to all cards and do they get notifications ?
