I've been using Sourcetree for years without this issue. Recently, my antivirus software has been preventing Sourcetree from opening. Last time this happened (last week), updating my AV software solved the problem. Now, no updates are available for it, and I cannot open Sourcetree. No logs are created by the app, so it seems that it doesn't actually attempt to launch. Perhaps it's an issue with the Updater?
I went to check the app's digital signature before making an exception for the app in my AV software, and the signature did not have a timestamp and is using SHA1. Could this be the issue?
Same issue, with Avast Free Antivirus. Installers appear to install but nothing comes up after a blink of the splash. On running the app, same issue, just a blink and it's gone. No indication of anything going on from the antivirus side.
If I disable antivirus, then I can run the app (which continues with some tool installations and config). If I turn on the antivirus while SourceTree is running I see no obvious issues. However if I stop Sourcetree, it will not be able to launch again until the antivirus is disabled.
Yes same issue here, I have to disable AVAST before it will open and pass the splash screen, I noticed this problem on a new machine running Windows 11, never experienced this issue previously on Win 11 Surface Pro, Multiple Win 10 desktops and a Win 7 desktop,
