SourceTree is great, but I have users that want something the same in Windows. Does this exist?
SourceTree for windows is now available
I've found SmartGit which is more than a compensation for SourceTree - not just on the Mac, but also on Windows and sometimes Linux. In some (for me important) areas SmartGit is better (more "smart"), faster and visually less bloated than SourceTree, in other areas SourceTree is a little bit better.

Is there something important in Sourcetree that is missing in TortoiseGit?

It isn't fully cross-platform (I want to be able to use one tool across environments) and it doesn't let me switch-hit across different vc systems (ie. go between Hg and git with no effort)

Not yet, but this is being requested a lot.
