How Do You Clone a Different Branch

Taylor Jentzsch April 1, 2016

Once I updated SourceTree to v2.2.3 and 2.2.4, I no longer have the ability to clone another branch other than a default/master.

When clicking "Clone" > "Clone a Repository" popup displays > Expand "Advanced Options" dropdown > This location used to let you select a different branch, It is now empty.

Is this a bug? or have these options moved? How can I clone a different branch?

Once mentioned that, I found were to do it.
Main Menu > Repository > Checkout... > Checkout New Branch tab > then select the branch

Thank you.
It was killing me trying to find where to do that. In part, I think my terminology is wonky. I was looking for new branch or clone. Not Checkout.

It's just a workaround, but you can clone master, then checkout whatever other branch you want.
