Hi Today one of my teammates pushed their work and I need to pull it but whenever I try to log in on the app it fails and reopens the login screen. I know my credentials are correct because it works fine on the web. if I can login on the web does that mean my account is correctly set to active (i saw a similar post so i want to make sure)?
Why would it keep looping me in the login screen? I really need to be able to login to the app.
I tried repairing it, updating it, reinstalling it, and resetting my password,.
When I try to change my login info via the options I get a weird message about an unexpected character but no matter what i type I always get this even when pasting in my correct password. How do I fix this?
G'day!.
The most common issue customers are experiencing related to authentication in SourceTree is due to the deprecation of GIT username/password in favour of App Passwords:
https://bitbucket.org/blog/deprecating-atlassian-account-password-for-git-and-bitbucket-api-activity
We have a blog post however which explains the steps to troubleshoot this issue, please follow these accordingly and this should resolve the issue:
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Sourcetree-articles/Bug-Fix-Sourcetree-for-Windows-authentication-error-when/ba-p/1965968
Please follow these steps and let me know how it goes.
Cheers!
