Avast File Shield started blocking access to Sourcetree today (1 November 2019). It says Sourcetree is infected with MacOS:Downloader-X [Drp]. I have not found any information about this virus on the web.

My computer has Avast Security version 14.2 (a3145f33d364) with virus definitions 19110100.

My SourceTree version is 4.0, modified on October 31, 2019 at 2:30 PM.

I also have this problem.

I got the same issue today with AVG AntiVirus. I can't find anything about this virus on the internet either. What should I do next?

Same here this morning with WebRoot.

I have been unable to use Source Tree since this virus warning as I don't know how to fix it. Do I need to reinstall? Has the issue been fixed in a later release?

I fixed the issue by moving my old application to a backup folder. Then I downloaded a fresh version of sourcetree and moved it into Applications. When I opened up sourcetree it still had all the repository settings still in place and I no longer got the virus warning.
