Anyone have a good recommendation on the best way to learn about building Jira fields and screen and managing all the layers?  I get confused by the fields, field configurations, screens, screen schemes, issue layout, issue type screen schemes, etc. 

Would really like to see a list of here are all the steps to add a new field and include it on all the right screens and places.  It seems like too many layers to me, but I guess I just don't know exactly what each layer does in the overall process.
