can i add a custom image as the bullet?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: How to change bullet style in a Confluence page

I tried to point to it like this:

.wiki-content ul {
list-style-image: url('<my URL>');
}

Could be a total newb error but no, it didn't work.
