Invalid version release date format

Kasper Garnæs October 17, 2012

When trying to set a release date for a version I use the popup calendar to select November 9th 2012. This becomes 9/11/12 in the release date field.

When trying to update the version the following error message is shown beneath the release date field:

Please enter the date in the following format: d/MMM/yy

The format d/MMM/yy is not valid. Trying to work around the problem by entering 9/011/12 does not validate either. The error message remains.

The only way to save the version is to leave out the release date.

Atlassian has now fixed the popup calendar so that it sets the value of the field to 9/Nov/12.

I have the same problem but it can be fixed by entering the date as 9/Nov/12.

Thanks - that works!

Now we just need a proper fix from Atlassian.

The problem I have is slightly different:

When I define a version I select the version via the jira-calendar. After having selected a date, it is prompted in the 'dd.mm.yyyy' format. After adding this version the date-format das been changed to dd/mmm/yy.

On releasing the version the version date is also presented in the dd/mmm/yy format and the error-message 'Please enter the date in the following format: dd.MM.yyyy' is propmted. A date selected from the Jira-calendar is shown int he 'dd.mm.yyyy' format.

Any idea for a work-around?
