How to: Merging 2 separate locally hosted JIRA instances into an active OnDemand JIRA instance.

I can get the instances locally merged. But then how to merge a local live system with an OnDemand live system? The projects are distinct and do not overlap. From the OnDemand documentation it is not clear if this is currently even possible. I would like to stay with OnDemand but may need to retreat back to a local instance.

Hi Peter,

I'm a Confluence enginer but I'll answer this question because the same would apply to Confluence.

Ondemand it's a bit different and it won't work the same since you need admin permissions to merge both instances. AFAIK, you can ask the Ondemand team the instance backup so you can import lacally and merge them. Then I believe you can send them back the files to import in ondemand. It a laboriuos job, but is the only one I can think of now.
