I am currently unable to allow only specific rolles to edit the workflow status

aubrice.foka July 14, 2021

I am trying unsuccessfully to restrict editing of workflow status only to Tesmanager with or without a success group.

  1. Project Settings - > Permissions - > Actions then Edit Permissions: I have given the Testmanager and each user in the group COELSB permission to edit issues.
  2. Then I went to the workflows, selected the workflow (Which is active), clicked on "Edit".
  3. I have clicked on the status or I want to introduce restrictions ("In Specification")
  4. Then I clicked on "Properties".
  5. Then I entered the different combinations of the following options from Proporty Key and Property Value:
  • Proporty Key: jira.permission.edit.group.1 ; Property Value: COELSB
  • jira.permission.edit.group=jira-COELSB
  • Proporty Key: jira.permission.edit.projetrole.1 ; Property Value: 10022
  • jira.permission.edit.Testmanager
  1. After entering the keys, I press the "Add" button
  2. Then I go to the workflow and press "Publish Draft".

Hey @aubrice.foka

Welcome to the community!

I have moved your question to the Jira Questions section for others to see.

Quick question and maybe you've figured it out already.

Are you trying to keep anyone who is not in the Testmanager group from transitioning the ticket when it is in status "In Specification"?

If so, I think a condition will be easier for this use case.

Using the User Is In Group condition will only allow users in a given group to execute a transition.

Find more information here on how to add a condition to the workflow.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Brittany
