How can I clone a Structure "project"?

Christopher Kelley March 9, 2015

We currently create projects in JIRA, and can clone issues and projects (with or without issues) using various methods. On the issue side, we can clone via the Clone Plus add-on. On the Project Clone side, we use Project Clone add-on.

In order to justify the use of Structure, we must have similar clone capabilities - in the sense, if I create a JIRA Project with an associate Structure (especially a project template with a standard set of milestones, issues, and hierarchy), we must be able to clone this and not reinvent this each time.

What mechanisms exist within Structure to facilitate this requirement?

Hi Christopher,

You can clone an entire structure (hierarchy) as well as the issues contained in it (new issues will be created in a project you specify).

There are options for the cloned issues, such as adding prefixes, suffixes, links to the original issues and much more.

Documentation here: Copying Structure and Cloning Issues

Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers,

Robert
