Came to Summit thinking that Cloud wasn't an option for our company and now am re-evaluating. Would love to hear from members who have migrated from Server to Cloud about your decision process and experience.
We had conducted the same thought exercise awhile back.
We have been hesitant for two reasons:
Control - Atlassian doesn't put enough emphasis on security and control of data in manage service environments. Being in Health Care, risk is higher in mind then other industries. Would need to see a LOT more work done in this area to align with legislation to make that move. I suspect that's why they've allowed for feature gaps between the server and the cloud (think road-maps..etc).
Speed - Once you reach a certain critical mass, it appears that cloud becomes less responsive. However, the same can be said when you use to many plugins. I don't have hard data on #2, but I've talked to a few other corporate clients who went from Server to Cloud and back to Server.
