Really like this one because in my last company HR & IT didn't fit together in any chance! My question would be: "How do you get HR people into IT processes without driving IT crazy?"

Hi Fabienne,

Thanks for your compliment and for your question.

At Atlassian - our people and IT teams collaborate really closely and our presentation was also a manifestation of that : Divya is HR team and Paul and I are from IT.

To begin with - we don't think these are IT processes. These are HR processes, enabled by IT tools and technology. IT is serving HR who are our business/stakeholders. We co-design the processes and brainstorm the solutions feasible with our current technology stack. HR is involved in design, testing, deployment, change management and measuring success using surveys and so on. HR teams do challenge IT teams to improve our solutions to offer better user experience. And that has helped us go beyond the possibilities of the standard offerings of SaaS  tools like Workday, and come up with interesting solutions using Atlassian tools that you saw in the presentation. Hope that helps answer your question. Happy to engage and provide additional insight as needed.

Regards,

Akshay

Thanks @Akshay Patki for this detailed answer! Much appreciate that
As you mentioned breaking silos is the most important and the basis for start - co-design is the word here. Challenging but makeable!
