Hi All,
I am trying to get the issue description from Jira cloud, and planning to update the same description back to JIRA ( Doing this because description becomes empty in issue transitions). But when i try to use the below url
["restAPIURL"] + key + "?fields=description&expand=renderedFields"
It is giving me the description value in HTML ,
Can anyone pls tell me is there any way to get the description value same as stored value in JIRA?
Thanks
Hello @vkalakuntla
Following up from your other thread: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Description-field-becomes-empty-when-doing-state-transitions/qaq-p/1290546
I still believe the description should not be updated (cleared) during transitions triggered through the REST API. This workaround might be doable but the underlying issue you are facing is what we should get to the root of. Returning the conversation to the other thread.
