How to create a custom field value based on another custom field selection

Marcin Jankielewicz February 22, 2021

Hi,

I'm trying to setup a new custom field with 2 selections from which you can chose either one or both.

If first one is selected I would like for new custom field to show specific values

and if second is selected I would like for that same custom field to show different values

but if both are selected, then I'd like for combined values to show in the new custom field.

Is there a way to do this?  If so, what's the most efficient way?

Thank you.

Hi Marcin - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You could consider using a custom field with cascading values type, but that won't work if you want the first field to have multiple selections in it.

The only way in Jira Cloud to come close to that would be to use a third party add-on such as ProForma Forms.

Hi John,

Thank you for your prompt suggestion.

I used cascading value type for now so that only 1 selection can be made.

I'll look into ProForma Forms and see how useful will that be.

Thanks again.
