Epics don't show up on the product backlog

When epics act like cards in the backlog, epics dont appear in both menus.

That's correct.  Epics do not go into a backlog.  You work on their stories, not the Epic.

Not what Im talking about. It's the same menu via two different touch points—both adding to backlog. So you can add epics since you treat them as cards unless you toggle settings to not do that.

This is a bug.

The touchpoints are the issue create in JIRA, which allows for Epics becuase JIRA doesn't care, and the backlog menu where Software does care, and doesn't expect you to add epics to a backlog.  It looks like design to me, not a bug.
