Is there any way to auto-apply the outernal URL page title on the confluence article?

Sunmi Baek December 23, 2021

Hi, I'm new here!

I need some helps on Confluence function.

For my work, I need to attach outernal web page(not confluence article page) link to the confluence article.

Whenever there is a change on the Web page title, I need to make the links title on confluence manually as well.

Is there anyway I can set them to show the current title even if I don't make it change in manual?

I don't have an answer for you, but perhaps you can clarify your terminology.

Confluence pages have a Page URL like:

https://something.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SPACE/pages/123456/Page+Title+Here.

That page also has a Page Title, like "Page Title Here."

When you say "Attach outernal web page," do you mean embed an external URL in the page, such as https://www.cnn.com? Or are you talking about the Attachments command?

You want to change the Page Title automatically when one of the other things changes? Or do I misunderstand? I'm sorry I don't know what you're asking about, but they say that the first step in making technology work is to specify exactly what behavior we want to see.

Hi Alastair,

Thank you for your comment!

I meant to say "Hyper link function" by "Attach outernal web page".

I'm fully aware of the fact that confluence has the function to show the current version of the article page title if it's confluence page. I wonder whether there is any function to show up the current webpage title of other platform like general website page title in the confluence article page if I hyper link them.

Does it clarify enough? It would be great if I can find a way to actualize the idea.
