Does the yaml-validator-hook work when code is edited in the bitbucket UI?

I was wondering if pre-receive hooks are triggered when someone edits a file inside bitbucket. This plugin is working great when I try pushing the code, but if I edit it manually in bitbucket, the hook isn't triggered. I need it to be triggered for UI edit as well. Is there a way to do that?
