Run a ScriptRunner groovy script as an Action from Project Automation?

It would be really convenient if we could run a ScriptRunner groovy script as an Action from Project Automation.  Then we wouldn't need to build new transitions specifically with a post function for that step.

Is this something that could be added to the plugin?

Hi Matthew,

This is already available, as of release 5.3 ScriptRunner provides an action for Automation for Jira that "lets you run your own code":

automation for jira

At this stage the only function available is a "custom script", but you can call other ScriptRunner functions programmatically.

A few other apps also provide such actions meanwhile, refer to section 'Atlassian ecosystem integrations' in the Automation for Jira third party extensions documentation for details.

Cheers,
Steffen

Thanks for pointing this out.  I'm not sure why, but that option wasn't showing up for us.  I updated the plugin to the latest version and presto, it was available.

The answer from  Steffen assumes that ScriptRunner is installed.
Is there also a possibility to do this without the script runner
