Quizzes: multiple attempts for each user with a new selection of questions each time

Ekaterina Arkhipova September 11, 2017

I'm using Quizzes add-on. Is it possible to use random questions from questions bank so that each time user takes the quiz, there is a new set of questions?

For example, I have 30 questions under 'Solar system' topic, only 10 random questions are included in the quiz. If the user takes the quiz again, it will show 10 different questions from this topic. Each time the user takes the quiz with different sets of questions the report with the answers is shown, so that the results of 2nd attempt are not written over the results of the 1st one.

Hi Ekaterina,

My name's Katerina. I am a product owner of izi - LMS for Confluence in StiltSoft. I have just seen your question. It is a bit challenging to keep track of the activity at the platform here.

You can contact us directly in case other questions arise in the future:

To answer your question, we added attempts in the version 2.2.0 https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1214110/izi-lms-for-confluence-courses-quizzes/version-history

It allows you to track attempts history and view results and answers of each attempt. For the case with 10 random questions out of 30, you need to:

  1. Create a quiz with 30 questions
  2. In quiz settings, set 'Number of questions to include when taking the quiz' to 10
  3. In quiz settings, enable 'Randomize questions'
  4. A participant will get 10 random questions which are different for each attempt.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Katerina
