Mind map cannot be used with PlantUML plug-in.

Masami Yajiri November 25, 2019

I would like to use MindMap with PlantUML plug-in, but if I write UML with "@ startmindmap ~ @ endmindmap", it will be displayed as "Could not generate preview. Please consult tech support."
Do you know how to make it available, such as updating plug-ins?

Hello Masami, my understanding is that three things need to be up to date enough to display some of the newer syntaxes in PlantUML:

  • The version of Confluence
  • The version of PlantUML (or other) plugin that is used
  • The version of GraphViz that is installed on the same server that runs Confluence. (I don't know anything about how that works, but would like to learn more. If I'm wrong, please chime in!)

I am able to generate a MindMap diagram using Visual Studio Code and a PlantUML add-on, so I know the syntax can work, I just can't do it on our Confluence instance yet.
