Issues still appear in search results even after they have been deleted.

I have deleted 5 Issues from my JIRA instance. When I search the project, the 5 issues still appear in the list. However we cant see the details as JIRA gives the message that the entry has been deleted. This is giving us a wrong report when we look for all active issues.

Sounds like the index was not updated correctly after the deletion.

In the short term, to fix these issues (and confirm that it is the index), try re-indexing Jira

In the long term, to find out what happened and prevent it - how did you delete them? Are there any errors in the log from around the time you deleted them?

No error as such.. Everything else is working fine as per expectation.

No error when you were deleting them? Ok, that's not good.

How did you delete them though? One by one? Bulk edit? External process? Plugin? SQL?
