Rich Filters can be displayed in Confluence on Server/DC with some minor Confluence configuration changes made on global level... 💪 🤩

So, is the same true for Cloud? Can it be displayed in Confluence, in the same way?

Hi @Fun Man Andy

No, the same is not true for Cloud unfortunately. The problem is that the external gadgets framework provided by Atlassian on Server/DC is not available in Cloud at all.

The only technical solution would be for us to create a dedicated Confluence Cloud app; we intend to do so in the future.

Hi @Dan Mihalache _Qotilabs_ Our dashboards created by the Rich Filters were not migrated for some reason (from Jira Server to Jira Cloud). Would you point me to more resources to help us diagnose and troubleshoot the cause? - Thanks! Jerri

Hi @Jerri Chiu Unfortunately, Jira does not support automatic migration of 3rd party gadgets from Server to Cloud. I know Atlassian is aware of the problem and they might consider providing a framework/API for vendors to use in the future, but for now at least, the dashboard/gadget migration can be done only manually.

The rich filters migration though, could technically be automated. We're working on this right now, we're adding support for the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant. We'll do our best to get this done as soon as possible. Keep an eye on our release notes or send us a support request and we'll notify you as soon as this is released. Best regards, Dan

Thank you, @Dan Mihalache _Qotilabs_ for the update on your side. by "the dashboard/gadget migration can be done only manually", do you mean recreate the Rich Filters on Jira Cloud manually for each Rich Filter we have on Jira Server? This may be our last resort, but we have a lot to recreate, and are still hoping there's a way to migrate automatically, before end of March. Any additional support is appreciated (we have a support ticket out to you). Thank you! Jerri

Hi @Jerri Chiu On your Server Jira instance you have your rich filters configured and you also have a number of dashboards using these rich filters in rich filter gadgets (the config of your rich filter gadgets is based on your rich filters). You will be able to migrate automatically the rich filters (as soon as we manage to release this functionality), but the dashboards & gadgets will have to be reconfigured manually on Cloud.

Again, Jira does not provide any framework/API for 3rd party dashboard gadget migration. This is why, unfortunately, there is not much that we (app vendors) can do at our level. Best regards, Dan

thank you @Dan Mihalache _Qotilabs_ any idea / rough timeframe when "as soon as we manage to release this functionality" is?

Hi @Jerri Chiu We now provide a migration path from Server/Data Center to Cloud, using JCMA for the migration of the rich filters – more details available here: Migrate from Rich Filters Server/Data Center to Cloud.

Hi @Anat Kutner

If you find that the app is not available - you can try searching for similar apps in the marketplace!

For example, Rich Filters does not appear to have a Cloud version based on their app page - so you could:

  1. Search for Rich Filters via the search bar
  2. Limit the search to Cloud Hosting using the filters on the left-hand side

Check to see if these results offer an alternative in Cloud - or change your search query to match your need!

Hi @Anat Kutner ,

Welcome to the community! I am Marlene from codefortynine.

Our cloud app Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards is able to add filters to your dashboard and make your gadgets interactive.

If you want to see how our app works without installing it, you can check out our demo dashboards.

You can also have a look at the Atlassian Marketplace, to see if there are other apps that meet your needs: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?hosting=cloud&query=interactive%20dashboard

Don't hesitate to get in touch with our support if Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards doesn't support your use case. We are still working on updates.

For any app in the marketplace, you can check by going to the marketplace entry for it and look to the top right for the "platform" drop-down.  This will already say one of "Cloud, Data Center, Server", and when you click on it, offer the others that are available.

If Cloud is not available on that list, then the app does not have a Cloud version

(I suspect the marketplace entry is how you got here, as the tag for the app has been applied)
