Natively, no, this cannot be changed. Even if you go through the development tools from your browser and select the table elements and uncheck all of the CSS elements contain the "border" keyword.
As you can see from the picture, all of the CSS elements that contain the border are disabled (there are more border elements, but they are not attached, since this comment would be too long).
When it comes to apps, Table Filter, Charts and Spreadsheets, doesn't offer this solution to make the the borders dissappear. You can create a test instance - separate Jira site, or even a sandbox (if you have a premium plan) and test each app that is related to tables.
