I am currently evaluating the addon "Tableau for Confluence". There is the possibility to use parameters, but the documentation doesn't give an example on how to use them. Is it possible to predefine certain settings of filters for a chart that way? Maybe someone can give an example on how utilize this functionality.
I think you mean Tableau for Confluence - Pro, is that correct?
If yes, take a look at https://atlasauthority.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TFCP/pages/1491828737/Parameters where we have documented this behavior.
I don't want to criticise but I think "documented" is too stronger word for the words and image at the above url. Basically you say just add the parameter and the value and it works, are there any issues that can arise, ways to troubleshoot if the visualisation comes through but you cannot then further hone it down to these parameters, other things to look out for? Common issues?

Hi Fred,
Parameters something we control, these are Tableau Parameters. You can see the documentation for them at https://help.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/parameters_create.htm I have added a link to this in our docs as well.
The way to troubleshoot these parameters is to get them working as expected in Tableau first, then set them up in our macro.
I am not aware of any common failure scenarios, but if you have any questions specific to your instance, we can help via https://atlasauthority.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/1/group/1/create/1
