How to find a display name for an event type in Automation?

Jon Abad September 1, 2017

Is there a way to transform the {{eventType}} smart field into something more legible than "jira:issue_updated:issue_commented"?

I presumed that i would need to write some If statements but then i learned that Mustache cares not for these things...

Hi Jon,

Yeah for now there's no pretty name for this.

Can you explain your use-case a bit more though - what are you trying to do? Perhaps I can suggest a workaround.

Cheers,

Hi Andreas!

I am looking to replace some built-in notifications with slack notifications so when an updated/commented event happens, i would make a slack message like:

Jon updated ticket 1234 on field "abc"

If it was commented, then it would be:

Jon commented on ticket 1234 with message "the brown fox"

As i couldn't find a way to do that, i started making separate automation rules for each event type.
