Can lists be embedded in sections/columns?

I'm having a difficult time getting my page formatted. Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Ex:

{column:width=25%}
h2. Heading

*Notes:*
-Note
-Another note
-Yet another note
*Things:*
-Some things
-Other things
{column}

Interprets as literal:

- different
- bullet

- types

instead of desired:

• different
• bullet
• types
