We've run into problems with bonfire in IE. it does not seem to work. Works here for me in Safari, Chrome & Firefoxes 3,4 & 5 after logging in to Jira in the respective browsers. the browser helper installs, but does not accept the credentials provided (user, pass). Even aftur logging into Jira.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Hi Ryan
I installed Fiddler and let it run while starting Bonfire. i just reinstalled it just 30 mins ago, and used the latest installer (don't know if the BHO has a new version today or not). When started, i used the Jira Server URL, and my username. According to Fiddler, Jira returns HTTP status code 200 to the BHO, but the BHO displays an error message:
When i restarted IE (version 8.0.6001) , and activated Bonfire, i was logged in. Weird error, that. Might want to put a note in the install instructions regarding this :)
Hello, I wrote the IE piece of Bonfire. Which version are you running? We've released a couple of milestones since the original announcement. If possible, can you look at the Bonfire plugin version installed in JIRA and let me know?
Would it be possible for you to capture the http exchange between bonfire and the JIRA server using Fiddler? http://www.fiddler2.com/fiddler2/
I can help debug the problem if I can get an idea of the communication going on between the Bonfire BHO in IE and JIRA.

It woud lbe great if this was fixed as it will teh difference between my company using BonFire or not --we only use IE and this is not about to change overnight, and nor is our proxy arrangements.
Please vote on this issue if it matches your scenario?

Bonfire is currently in Beta, so there are going to be a few bugs - currently the only bug report in the system reguarding IE is:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BON-1
I'm not sure which version of IE you are running, but the plugin does show support for IE 7,8, and 9... (http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BONFIRE/Bonfire+Installation+Guide ) so the best thing to do is file a bug report with a much detail as possible so we can recreate the bug. We will work to make sure all these issues are resolved before the production version is released.
You can file the bug report at:

We are also seeing a blank pane on IE8 with Bonfire. Our server side plugin is 2.2.3. Works great with FF.
We couldn't install it via the "button" link from the internal page (with Angry Nerds video), because of security policies, so an admin installed it via the click-click-from-folder method.
Install on FF13 was fine through the internal page method.
