Blended Perspectives at Team '22

Team '22 is just around the corner and at Blended Perspectives we're delighted that we'll be able to meet and engage with all of you once again.

We have a pretty exciting Team '22 event planned on April 6th for anyone interested in learning more about all of the biggest developments in the Atlassian Marketplace.

Covering the "State of the Marketplace: Movers, Shakers, and Consolidation" we'll discuss all of the most significant developments that have taken place in the Marketplace over the past year or so. From Appfire and Tempo consolidating their respective app portfolios, draw.io having a year to remember in 2021, and the Planning apps of Zephyr and Xray reaching new heights–we'll cover it all.

Our MARS™ database of 3rd party apps means we are uniquely situated to provide insight and analysis into the Atlassian Marketplace. You can learn more about MARS™ and how it can work for you here.

Here's a brief taster of some of what we'll be covering at our event:

Atlassian Marketplace Overview

By comparing category size and growth Figure 1 demonstrates incredibly clearly where the action in the Atlassian Marketplace is.

Evidently, Testing has been the standout category over the past year with nearly 40% growth over 2021. Other categories that have done very well include Integration, Planning, Time Management, and Requirements Management.

At our event we'll delve into why we think these categories are growing so well and what this means for the Atlassian ecosystem as a whole.

Marketplace Consolidation

Over 2020 and 2021 Appfire went on a spree of acquiring a host of Marketplace vendors covering a wide array of categories and app functions. Meanwhile in late 2021 Tempo acquired ALM Works, makers of the incredibly popular Structure application. Together, Appfire and Tempo control 23% of all paid Marketplace instances–this makes them incredibly influential in the Atlassian ecosystem and impacts all of us using Atlassian products.  If you attend our Team '22 event you'll be able to hear our view on why these vendors are pursuing these particular strategies and what we think the outcomes will be.

Movers & Shakers

Looking at the fastest growing Marketplace apps gives a really good indication as to where in the Marketplace customers are looking to maximize the value of their instances–both in terms of categories and individual apps.

Figure 3 shows the fastest growing Jira and Confluence apps over 2021. draw.io had an incredible year, growing its user-base by over 9,000 customers. Meanwhile the four next fastest growing apps were Testing apps made by Xblend and SmartBear (Xray & Zephyr)

Something remarkable is clearly happening in Test Management, if you want to hear our take then join us at Team '22.

This wont be one to miss–join us on April 6th from 5:30 – 6:30 PM PST at The Venetian.
