Automation rule for issue counter

Hi

I am looking for automation rule to carry out when-

1) I have a custom field name as "issue count" in create issue field when we create issue on that screen i have this field .

2) After all transition are done and after it comes to last stage i.e "Done" then the custom field that i have created it should get incremented by 1.

3) Then after that when we create Another issue and after that it goes through all transition that custom field after clicking done should show count as 2.And this goes on each and every time we create new issue.

What problem are you trying to solve by doing this?  Knowing the "why" will help the community provide better suggestions for your scenario.  Thanks!

Until we see that...

While it is possible to do what you ask with a rule, one challenge is protecting that counter field from tampering / manual edits.  That can be done by not showing the field on the views, using an entity property, etc.  Your post does not indicate if you are using Jira Cloud, Server, or Data Center version, so please indicate that as the tools have differences for automation and other Jira features.
