Automatically close "blocked by" issue if "blocks" issue is closed.

Hello,

Please assist with following:

We have and automation, when issue is created "blocks" issue is automatically created in another project. When "blocks" issue is closed "blocked by" doesn't take same status. How to automatically close this issue?

Hi @Anastasia Krutitsenko

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

May  I know which instance you are using? Is it Cloud or Server/Data Center?

On DC and Cloud - You can use the automation rule based on that you can move linked issue based on other linked issue.

Or Through JSU plugin or Script Runner Plugin  you can achieve this there  you can transits  the  issue to close based on linked issue.

Accept the issue if it helps

Dears @Paula Kraszewska and @Sachin Dhamale

Could you please clarify if the automation is possible if these two issues are in different projects?

@Anastasia Krutitsenko ,

You can use the global automation rule

Thanks,
Sachin

Hi @Anastasia Krutitsenko

Here's a simple block of the native automation that should help you close linked issues. Of course you can add more conditions (issues in a status, project, etc.) to suite your needs.

Hi @Sachin Dhamale ,

Thank you for your reply. It is Cloud.

Could you please describe the steps in more details?
