Agile Story Map must use the board colomns config, not the wfl status categories

Robert Mota September 22, 2017

When a workflow has resolved category status inside

eg. To scope (bleu), Scoping (yellow), Scoped (green), then, To Estimate (bleu), Estimating (yellow), Estimated (green), then, To implement (bleu), Developping/Testing/Reviewing (yellow), Done (green), then ...User AB testing, etc.

On a scrumboard where we can see all stories and epics into the backlog, but just the developpement part of the workflow on the current sprint view, all statuses before "To implement (bleu)" and itself are on the TO DO column, and all the statuses after "Done (green)" arer in the last DONE column.

But on the storyboard, the storypoints of all green statuses before DONE are not cumulated.

Hi Robert,

Would you mind sharing a screenshot of your agile board column mapping? That would be very useful.

Long story short, Jira Core has both Status (unlimited) and Status Category (To Do / Blue, In Progress / Yellow, Done / Green). On the Story Map we show the colour of the Jira Status Category on the card, and have a filtering option for the Status Category. If you hover over the Status Category colour you will see the Jira Status.

As @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- pointed out, Jira Software extends this further by defining the first column as Blue and the last column as done, even when the Status has a Status Category that does not match. For example, you'll see Waiting showing as Blue in the Done / Green column of Jira Software.

All a little confusing I must admit.

Hope that helps explain what we're trying to achieve though.

Thanks Robert, have a good day.

The only thing that matters to Jira Software when it comes to "done" is that the issues are in the last column.  Your "green status before done" are not done, because they're not in the last column.
