JQL History function for custom fields


I would like to know if you could help us in setting up a JQL for History for custom fields.
it's there for issue fields : status CHANGED FROM "In Progress" TO "Open"

we have a group picker field "Group"
we would like to filter issues that are escalated from L1 to L2 
there are many other groups too.

could you please help to filter this?

History JQL  functions are not available for custom fields.

@Alexey Matveev _Appfire_ Thank you! Yea I've seen it as well :(

Hoping some one has a workaround with no extra plugin. Thanks again for the reply!
