Is it really not possible to change the directory where attachments are saved?

Andre Capritta June 24, 2016

I need to move the attachments off of the local server to a secure share folder.  All I am seeing is that its no longer possible to move these.  Is that really the case?

Yes, it was changed for security.   You probably don't want it on a "shared" folder though, as you don't want anything other than JIRA to be able to write (and probably not read either, as the structure is useless outside the application)

But, you can easily map drives.  On Unix boxes, it's a doddle to mount other disks into a file tree, so that jira-home is on the local disk and jira-home/attachments on a remote and/or replicated drive.  Harder under Windows I believe, but still possible.
