automation to setup approvers

Hi 
i m using automation to set approvers field with the correct approvers based on some field value 

it all works fine , the approver field is updated and i can see the user assigned, but when the transition happens and it requires approval, it prompts me to add approvers ignoring the value i already set 

i tried setting it using field options or json syntax and failed both ways, what am i missing

Hi Muhannad,

Is the field you are trying to update via automation available on the respective issue screen? If not try adding the field to the screen and check if that works!

yeah it is available , thats where i got the screen shot it self, from within the issue

Could you once recheck if the field you are trying to set in the Approver(workflow) is the same the field you are trying to update via the automation

That sounds like a bug to me. I think you should open a support ticket with Atlassian to get their guidance. Please post back here with the resolution or if they open a bug ticket for you.
