Hi, looking into moving from Trello to JIRA work management for our Ops Team. Currently our team uses JIRA Software heavily. I get notifications when I am assigned tasks from JIRA software, but when I assign them in JWM I am not receiving the same notifications. (Slack and Email). How would I achieve this?
Hello @Stacie Hescock
Welcome to the Atlassian community!
Are you working with Jira Cloud or Jira Server/Data Center?
If you are working with Jira Cloud is the project Team Managed or Company Managed? That would be shown at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left.
You say "when I assign them". Are you assigning them to yourself? In your personal settings have you checked the boxes so that you receive notifications for changes you make?
Hi Trudy -
Working with Jira Cloud.
Looks like our project boards are a combination of "Company Managed Software" and "Team Managed Business".
When I am assigned to a task (whether I assign it to myself or someone else is assigned) I would like to get a notification in Slack.
Thanks!

Notifications are handled differently between Company Managed and Team Managed projects.
For Company Managed project Notifications Schemes are used. Those can be modified only by the Jira Administrators. However if the Jira Administrators have set up the Notifications to be sent to people based on Project Roles, then Project Administrators can modify who is assigned to the Project Role and that will impact who receives the notifications.
For Team Managed projects the Notifications are configured per project and can be modified by the Project Administrator.
I have not worked with sending notifications from Jira to Slack. I'm not sure it that is rooted in the Notification settings in Jira or not. If it is, then see above. Also see this Atlassian video on enabling personal notifications in Slack.

Hi @Stacie Hescock,
Thank you so much for your participation in the Atlassian community!
It sounds like your organisation is using both Jira Software and Jira Work Management. We are doing further research on customers who use both Jira Work Management and Jira Software, and we would love to invite you to take part in an upcoming customer research study!
What’s involved in the research:
If you’re interested and would like to participate, please take this short survey https://www.userinterviews.com/projects/_EGjxvzWRA/apply. (Alternatively, you can refer anyone who you think might be interested in the study!)
If you’re eligible for the study, we will reach out to schedule a time that is suitable for you.
If you have any other questions at all, feel free to email me at mnagaya@atlassian.com. We look forward to meeting you!
Cheers,
Mika
