How do I automate duration for a respective task I know will take, say 10 days?

Edited

I've set up an automation rule under the story issue type for multiple subtasks. How do I also set the known duration for each subtask? For example, say I know that one task normally takes 10 days, can I set that task for a duration of 10 days automatically as well?

Hi @Sandra Middleton

If you have set up your automation rule to create subtasks like the following image:

jwm multiple subtasks.png

Then no, you can't set the due date. However, once you click the "add fields" on each subtask then it will be inserted a new component (create issue) which will look like the following image:

jwm rule.png

There you can pick the e.g. "due date" field and give it a dynamic value (smart value) like the one I entered on the image above.

Let me know if that helps.

Ah ok!! Thanks Alex, I'll give this a try!
