Best tutorial videos to learn Jira Work Management

Tasha Palmer January 10, 2023

Hi, I have an accounts background and am taking on more administrative tasks for app developers who all use the Jira suite. I am brand new to it.

I have watched a number of YouTube videos by Atlassian partners. Are there any videos around that are for the current version of Jira Work Management? I got 15mins into a video yesterday and my screen did not match theirs at all, I found something similar but I did not have the same options and could not proceed. I was trying to learn by setting up my existing month end task list and automating the creation of the tasks each month.

Many thanks,

Tasha

Hi @Tasha Palmer

Are you looking for just help in Jira Work Management? Or Jira as a whole?

I'd consider signing up to a Work Management webinar/demo which might help - you can do that from this page - or you can also watch these on-demand here

There are other (non-video) help pages which might help also:

These pages contain a mix of user, Project Admin, and Product Admin-level details

Aside from this, you could also check out Atlassian University which has a range of learning opportunities!

Thanks @Ste Wright

I found the webinar yesterday and have signed up for it for Friday morning my time. I was hoping to have watched a few videos in the meantime so i had a better idea of what I was learning. I need to learn some of Jira as a whole but I'm not sure yet what I'll need to learn. I'll need to know enough of Jira software to get around along with Confluence. From what I understand of my new role I'll be making use of Jira Work Management.

Thanks for all the links.

Hi @Tasha Palmer

The University courses might have some videos - it's worth looking through if any of those might be useful :)

In terms of wider videos - I'd check out YouTube, but would recommend looking for videos created as near to today as possible (perhaps within the last 3 months?).

This is because Jira is constantly evolving, so the more recent the video, the more likely it will be based on the current functionality available!

The on demand video was OK for the first half and the screen didn't update so I could hear him describe what he was doing to create a new project but couldn't actually see to follow along. The screen was always blurry, I'm not a good auditory learner so I really need to see what was on the screen while he was describing what he was doing. Pretty disappointed with the quality of the video.

I watched a YouTube video that was about 13 months old yesterday. When I tried to follow along it was impossible.

I also have to use confluence so I have started on a free confluence training in the university.
