Hi,

I want to reduce story points from epic automatically based on the number of story points of the stories present in them.

Ex, I have an Epic - Epic 1 with 13 story points.

If I have 2 stories in that epic - Story 1 (5 story point), Story 2 (3 story point).

Is there any feature available so that the epic's story point changes to 5 story point automatically? (13 - (5+3))

Hello,

You should go to the board, where the epic is present and have a look at the Epic panel. It will show you the sum of story points for all stories in the Epic.

Good point @Alexey Matveev. I was assuming the sum display was desired in the issue detail view but for sure this view is a good solution!

@homoluden, I don't think this answers the original question though. I think the ask is to change the story point field in the epic automatically based on the child issues in that epic.  Both Portfolio and the backlog view will show this, BUT the epic itself still has the original 13 in the example above.

Hello @Mouli

As @Alexey Matveev has already mentioned that the epic panel already has the sum of the story points of the child issues.

You can also use Portfolio plugin, which sums up the story points of the epics and provides the aggregated points at the epic level. Along with details like "original estimate" and current estimate  so that it becomes easier to measure the variance.

I have never used story point on an epic. That seems problematic to me. At one point I was using an addon called Epic Sum Up. You might want to have a look at it to see if it meets your need. While there is the ability to roll up estimates from sub tasks to Stories or Tasks this does not exist for epics AFAIK.
