Jira Data Center/Server went down/stopped working, how can we troubleshoot the issue

On this morning Jira Data Center/Server was working fine but after sometime it went down and stopped working. While looking into the server we went to know the jira service is not running so, we just start the service and Jira came to life again. Now. I wants to investigate the issue which caused the Jira to go down to avoid this happening in future. 

My question is: How can I investigate this because while looking into the logs I found nothing.
