JQL to show all issues that are linked to Epics in specific project

Hello

In our Jira instance we have Project X, which has mostly Epics.  These epics are linked to multiple issues (stories or tasks), who also belong to multiple projects (e.g. an Epic in Project X has backend and frontend work, each one handled in different Jira projects).

Is there a way I can create a JQL query (without a new plugin) in which I can get all issues that are linked to an epic in Project X?  We currently do it with labels, but it also requires us to be careful to label all issues we need, but it would be better to pull this data without needing special labels.

Thanks!

Hi @John_Grow

Sounds like you have a workaround (labels) for not having a plugin to do nested queries for parents and children.  Other people have used Component to get the same result, or set a custom field on a status transition.  Without a plugin, the workarounds may be all you get.

Question: are the only epics you have in Project X?  If so, you could just look for anything that has an epic link and ignore any project criteria in the filter.

Best regards,

Bill
