How to see kanban board

Saul Fernandez February 2, 2018

Hello everyone,

After reading this: https://confluence.atlassian.com/agile/glossary/kanban-board and this https://confluence.atlassian.com/agile/jira-agile-user-s-guide/creating-a-board I do not know how to apply the kanban boards to view my projects.

In the second link, I read about Jira Agile but althoug I have Jira Software license, I do not know where to go to find Agile.

Sorry for this silly question but I am new administrating Jira and I am feelling a bit lost about it.

Thanks for any help,

PD: My goal is to have an Intraestructure Operational Project with the kanban view. I have something similar in Trello and I would like to start working with Jira as I do in Trello with new projects.

You also must differentiate the type of Project you are in: Software or Service Desk. That fools me all the time when I am looking for the kanban functionality

Jira Software is the Agile tool for Jira.  Atlassian don't really like us saying this, but the old Jira Agile add-on got turned into an application and renamed Jira Software.  So they're the same thing really.

Are you using Cloud or Server?  The layout of them is very different and determines where we might be telling you to look.

Oh we don't mind saying that.  What was Jira Agile became Jira Software starting with Jira 7. See I said it. ;)  Same thing?  well almost.  I mean one is derived from the other.  But there are a number of licensing changes in 7.   I guess I don't need to bore you with them here.   Major point among them is that on the Server platform for Jira 6 and Jira Agile 6, you needed separate licenses for both Jira Server and Jira Agile.  But when Jira Software came out, you could just have that single license applied instead.

But Nic is right, that is the old documentation.  If you're using Jira 7, might be better to refer to the current docs:

Cloud:
