How to restore Jira using the full database backup and jira data backup

Ankur Gupta September 2, 2020

Hi Team,

I have to restore my Jira instance as something went wrong from database end.

I have the fallowing backup.

1. full backup of the PostgreSQL DB
2. Backup of the Jira data directory. that i have taken using some script.

I know we can create a new empty database and restore the backed up content to this new database. but how can i restore the Jira data(attachment & avatar etc). so jira can read it too.

Could you please tell me the step, how can i restore both database as well as the Jira data. So after restore we can see all the issue, project, comment as well the attachment.

Regards,

Ankur Gupta

Hi!

Please, copy the home directory to the new Jira location.

Then make sure the dbconfig.xml configured properly.

And application properties linked to Jira home directory correctly.

After you can restore DB, and run Jira.
